Frequently Asked Questions

  • When highly sensitive people seek conventional support, we are often directed to make lifestyle changes to better conform to standards that may be outdated or harmful to us. When a one-size-fits-all approach fails to help, the person seeking support may internalize a message that she is the problem. Wellness coaching instead offers support through empathetic listening and embracing individuality.

  • Each session is unique. Even people with similar sensitivities may have very different priorities. For example, two individuals may both wish to support their nervous systems by exploring the way they eat; while one could be motivated to reduce sugar intake suspecting it interferes with sleep quality, the other may want to see if Human Design can help digestion.

  • By being open about her areas of interest, Ayana invites others to feel welcome to share from a place of their own authenticity, free from concern that something exciting or meaningful to them would be dismissed, shamed, or ridiculed. Her coaching blends approaches from contemporary wellness research with self-inquiry practices rooted in ancient wisdom traditions. These modalities all offer resources to support listening to intuition and practicing self-love.

  • If clients are interested in discussing aspects of their nutrition, Ayana has a background in Integrative Nutrition which allows her to facilitate introspection about food and support gentle changes in eating practices. Clients who wish to receive prescriptive eating advice are encouraged to contact a licensed nutritionist or registered dietician. Similarly, coaching is present and future-oriented, so Ayana encourages clients seeking to analyze their pasts to contact qualified therapy providers.

  • Coaching is a client-centered relationship. For Ayana, this means supporting clients in listening to their own intuitions. Clients may embrace their authenticity by exploring gentle, self-loving lifestyle changes. Though every experience is unique, clients may find their lives are very different in six months from when they begin coaching, as they will likely feel more attuned to themselves and aligned with their own authentic purpose.
